Let us take this day remember, reflect and salute to young Canadian citizens of yesterday and yes even today who understood very well the concept that “freedom isn’t free” in regards to preserving our liberties and freedoms that we enjoy today on this continent. One person brilliantly commented in a newspaper one Remembrance Day on how today’s generation mock the concept of sacrifice:
Our society has lost the will to make sacrifices. Left wing rot has permeated our society. It is exemplified in our every day lives.
Our Armed Forces are made up of people who volenteered to help make the world a better place. These are people that know how to make sacrifices.
Then there are the people that don’t like to make sacrifices. They attack those that make sacrifices to cover their own selfishness. It makes themselves feel better to knock someone down than pick themselves up.
60 years ago, these people wouldn’t have been given the time of day. The times have changed…
So true but the tide can be turned and I believe is turning. By the way, I again salute my the late grandfather Alvin MacLean for his service in World War II. It was not “just a job” that had to be done, it was all about liberating people and making sure that they stay free. Anything else said in opposition to this is nothing more than chidish tactics and moral confusion from the simplistic mentality of the war-is-not-the-answer peaceniks who hate to learn.
