As I celebrate my 42nd birthday today, I have one lovely lady who shares my birthday by the name of Teresa Nicole Anthony from Baltimore. She is a fitness model who has graced on quite a few publications and in her day job works for NASA (yes, a very brainy girl). So I wish the lovely lass a very good birthday too!

The Trouble With Romney

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney won the New Hampshire primary this past evening doing very well with fellow candidate Ron Paul at his side at second place and Jon Huntsman at third place (who I really like and I hope can make something out of this). Other candidates like former U.S. Speaker of The House of Representatives Newt Gingrich (another one whom I like a lot but who has a lot of baggage and of enemies on all sides of the political spectrum left, center and right) came in fourth and former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania Rick Santorum came in fifth. The next big event is the South Carolina primary on January 21st. Will Romney have the Republican nomination locked up? Many pundits suggest so. For me, I hope not. If he’s ever to get the nomination (providing the two men mentioned I like get it) he must work for it and hard! If I was to meet Mitt Romney in my lifetime, I could only imagine that there is a certain prank I would do. Watch this clip from Wayne’s World (starring hometown Toronto boy Mike Myers).

It really is hard to warm up to Mitt Romney. I have related to public figures who had humble beginnings. I mean that they were broke ass poor when they grew up (think Nixon or Clinton) or they had severe personal tragedies and/or hardship in life (think Lincoln or former British PM Winston Churchill). Former Governor Romney was born into a wealthy political and business family. He’s net worth is over 200 million. How can 30 million Americans who are simply in dire straights relate to a man like that ??? This is his challenge over the next ten months to bridge the gap. If not, Americans will experience their own version of Pierre Trudeau in the incarnation of a second Obama term.

First I started with The Way I See It (on blogger.com), then added as The Way I See It, Anyway. Then it became the Independent Thinker and as of recent, Taylor Topics. Now the blog is called The Purple Tory, which is committed (and always will) to a sane, rational, centrist and intelligent kind of conservatism for the 21 st century. New name but the same principles and same style. May you still enjoy what is to come.

Anybody Hotter than Kathy Griffin??? You betcha 110%! Anybody Funnier than Kathy too??? You betcha 120%!!!

Let’s put it this way: I will only watch Anderson Cooper’s New Year’s Eve special when it’s ten seconds before the ball drops to the new year AND THAT’S IT! Watching the movie Animal House and a couple episodes of Cheers re-runs is a lot better time spent than watching ALL of AC’s New Year’s Eve special. I respect AC as a journalist and as a person but I wish Anderson Cooper can get a new sidekick for New Year’s Eve 2012! Somebody who’s really hot would be nice but what is more important that if they are REALLY FUNNY! Kathy Griffin is NEITHER! This woman is a legend in her own mind! Take away the potty jokes from her mouth, this woman has nothing really to say. Period. She thinks taking off her dress and showing her bra in Lady Ga-Ga fashion that she’s an all time sex-symbol. Here’s what I am talking about!

Nevertheless, there are some of those who religiously subscribe to her gospel of political correctness and her proud mean-spirited humour are drooling over her figure. I sure ain’t. Trust me I am a red-blooded male and proud of it. I may be particular in my tastes but I can show you women who are billion times hotter than Kathy Griffin.

Also this is who I believe should be Anderson Cooper’s New Year Eve’s sidekick (not going to happen): Evan Sayet—one of the top conservative Jewish comedians and Frontpage.org’s Jamie Glazov gets an interview with him. Hear him out and embrace the somebody in Hollywood has common sense for a change. This guy is a billion times waaay funner than Kathy Griffin any day.

It has been a couple months since I have blogged on this site. I hope to change that but having a life besides blogging has a lot more importance and priority at the moment but those who are sincere readers, I have not forgotten about you. The mission is still the same: giving a strong centrist conservative point of view. For the guys: I want to give more (Fit or otherwise) Babes of The Month (or random babe of the day) as possible. Yes prudes whether fundamentalists or feminists can always go somewhere else! As for everyone may 2012 be a Happy New(s) Year in every sense of the word!

Lest we forget: Remembrance Day 2011

Let us take this day remember, reflect and salute to young Canadian citizens of yesterday and yes even today who understood very well the concept that “freedom isn’t free” in regards to preserving our liberties and freedoms that we enjoy today on this continent. One person brilliantly commented in a newspaper one Remembrance Day on how today’s generation mock the concept of sacrifice:

Our society has lost the will to make sacrifices. Left wing rot has permeated our society. It is exemplified in our every day lives.

Our Armed Forces are made up of people who volenteered to help make the world a better place. These are people that know how to make sacrifices.

Then there are the people that don’t like to make sacrifices. They attack those that make sacrifices to cover their own selfishness. It makes themselves feel better to knock someone down than pick themselves up.

60 years ago, these people wouldn’t have been given the time of day. The times have changed…

So true but the tide can be turned and I believe is turning. By the way, I again salute my the late grandfather Alvin MacLean for his service in World War II. It was not “just a job” that had to be done, it was all about liberating people and making sure that they stay free. Anything else said in opposition to this is nothing more than chidish tactics and moral confusion from the simplistic mentality of the war-is-not-the-answer peaceniks who hate to learn.
